"John Wick" is a popular action movie franchise that centers around a retired hitman named John Wick, played by Keanu Reeves. The franchise has four movies as of the knowledge cut-off date, and in this explanation, we'll go over the plot summaries of each movie.

"John Wick: Chapter 1" (2014) follows John Wick, who has recently lost his wife Helen to illness. As he's grieving, a group of Russian gangsters break into his house to steal his car and kill his dog, which was a gift from his wife. John initially refuses but is forced to carry out the hit when Santino puts a bounty on John's head. John completes the hit, but Santino betrays him and sends assassins after him. John is forced to fight off the assassins and goes on the run.

"John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum" (2019) begins right where the second movie ends, with John being excommunicated from the Continental, a global assassin organization, for killing a member on its grounds. With a $14 million bounty on his head, John is forced to fight his way out of New York City, where he seeks help from old friends and enemies alike. He eventually makes his way to Casablanca, where he meets up with an old friend, Sofia (Halle Berry), who helps him in his mission to clear his name and seek revenge against those who have wronged him.
